Copy or move jpeg files downloaded with internet explorer from browser cache

You can use FileMonkey to copy or move all jpeg image files that you have downloaded or viewed on the internet to a specific location.

This tutorial assumes that you are using "Microsoft Internet Explorer"

1.

Right click on the FileMonkey icon and select "Run as administrator". When the main window loads, select the "Targets / Target All Files" menu item from the menu bar at the top of the main window.

2.

Next, you will need to navigate to the internet explorer browser cache folder.

For older operating systems, this will be "C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files"

For more recent versions of windows, this will be:

"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"

Substitute "username" in the above line with the username that you are logged into windows as.

Left-click down the folder tree on the left of the main window to find this folder.

3.

You will not be able to see any of your cached files in the file list. Internet explorer caches your interet files in sub folders of this folder.

Tick the "Include Sub Folders" and "Include Hidden Folders" tick boxes at the bottom of the main window.

Note that you still won't be able to see your files in the file list.

4.

Click on the "Use Filters" arrow at the bottom left of the main window.

Tick the "File Pattern" tick box and enter a pattern of *.jpeg;*.jpg

If you only want to copy jpeg files that are more than a specific size, you can tick the "File Size" tick box and enter a size range.

5.

Select the "Quick-Find / Copy" menu item from the main window.

This will open the "Copy or move files" window.

Use this window to copy (recommended) or move your files to any folder of your choosing.

Enter a destination folder in the second box down in this window.

Select "Rename Duplicates" from the drop down menu and clear the "Copy Folder Structure" tick box.

6.

Click on the "Start" button to start the operation.
